Valentine's day was just around the corner, and so was our anniversary of when we first started dating on February 13. Chris and I decided to have a little stay-in seven-year anniversary since our little munchkin wasn't feeling so good and, well, we just couldn't find a babysitter.
I was looking through my kitchen cabinets for some elegant dinnerware, but I came up empty-handed, so I just took a drive to my fave thrift store. Boy, did I find some pretty things!
Here's what my cart looked like an hour into shopping. I wanted some soft pink and gold colors, just perfect for a relaxing and romantic mood.
I mixed and matched dinnerware pieces, and everything came out to be just shy of $40! I can't speak for Chris, but I was for sure very happy!
Chris surprised me with these beautiful roses, and the faux greens are from a previous project.
I love the details on the plates--simple but very elegant. The gold silverware looks so pretty with the pink details of the plate and the glasses.
I think my favorite items are these really beautiful vintage glass goblets that I turned upside down and into candle holders. I love the warm glow the candles bring through the glass.
You don't need to go out to a fancy restaurant for a romantic dinner; you can just have one right at home by creating a fancy dinnerware display that is not only very affordable, but also super pretty.
